Royal Academy Success 2024!!

Royal Academy Success 2024

So it’s a return to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition after a break of 7 years. Woolfy has finally made it on to the walls! He was selected by Cornelia Parker who is one of my favourite British artists. I am so happy to finally get to be in the exhibition again. Woolfy made it through a couple of years ago but then failed at the last minute to get on to the wall! It happens very occasionally and is such a blow at the final hurdle. So, as a result, I’m even more pleased! I was at Varnishing Day on Monday and there really was a buzz of excitement in the air. The assembled artists were very happy to be there. It was a great opportunity to meet friends old and new and to hang out with a few art celebs!  Click here if you wish to purchase the print.

As some of you may or may not know, I only painted dogs for many years. I love all dogs, big and small, young and old, fluffy and smooth, beautiful and cute and the cheekier the better! I painted only dogs for several years before returning to painting landscapes. I still regularly take on commissions and also make drawings and prints of dogs.

As my dog painting and printing career is being highlighted again at the RA, I thought I’d better update my website and add some images. Here is my gallery of dog prints and paintings.

I have recently painted a couple of dogs for clients and they’ve been delighted.

It’s not a long or difficult process. If you have good photos of your beloved beast then you can send some to me and I’ll have a look to see if the image would work as a painting or print. If you live around London and you can get to my studio, I can take as many photos as you like and we agree an image to be painted. You also get to keep the images from the photo shoot as part of the package. Paintings usually take 4 to 6 weeks to complete depending on my waiting list when you commission. There is no size limit but for example a 30cm x 30cm square oil painting, unframed is £795. Lino cuts can also be commissioned and for a bespoke piece, the cost is similar to that of the painting. You can of course have several prints made from the block to give to friends or family, for a small extra cost. If you would like to have your beloved dog immortalised in paint or print then please contact me and feel free to make an appointment to visit me at the studio.
